St Albans Half Marathon on Sunday 13th will see over 3,000 runners take on multiple distances and for various personal reasons. Running has been a salvation for many during this difficult year and it will be a joy to see so many runners gather and participate together. What’s your reason for running? It may be fitness, it may be social, or it could be looking after your mental health. Runners often talk about the ‘mental washing machine whirling around’ as they run. In a good way it helps you process your day, think forward, reflect and sometimes even solve problems that had previously felt impossible.
Running doesn’t discriminate. Its free. Everyone can do it (if injury free). All you need is the motivation and some lycra. SA Law have seen many families running together over lockdown. It may be down to limited options but nevertheless it’s great to see. But again, not all families would have been able to enjoy this ‘picture postcard’ experience.
Behind the scenes a lot of families have struggled, divorce rates have gone up and children suffered. SA Law is a local law company that specialises in supporting families with relationship breakdowns and issues around children. SA Law wanted to partner with St Albans Half Marathon as they like how the community charity run encourages so many of us to get out, exercise, keep ourselves healthy and support each other. Many of the firm will be taking part and happy to support the chosen charity partner, Herts Domestic Abuse Helpline.
SA Law appreciate that not everything can be cured by a run, if you or someone close to you is having a family breakdown or relationship break up and would want supportive and expert advice, the family team from SA Law can help you and give you answers to your questions which might help go some way in easing the way forward.
