Moor Park Virtual 10K and Fun Runs – 1st to 30th November 2020
This event is organised by Active Training World
in aid of Mount Vernon Cancer Centre & the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre
We are very pleased to be able to organise the Moor Park 10k at Merchant Taylors’ School on 11 October but we want to ensure people of all ages and abilities are still able to take part and raise vital funds for Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre.
So, as well as the physical race on 11 October , we are organising the Virtual Moor Park 10k & Fun Runs for all ages and abilities! Choose your challenge – 10k, 5k, 2k or 1k and run/jog/walk anytime, anywhere until the end of November.
Prices are £10 per adult entry and £5 for Under 16’s.
How Does It Work?
Book your place between now and the end of November and you will have from 1st October – 30th November to complete your run.
Your name will be uploaded to the results page each Friday in October and November and you will be sent the link to access it in an email. When you have completed your run (choose from 10k, 5k, 2k or 1k), go to the results page and select the distance you ran, find your name in the list and edit your time. You will need to verify your date of birth to identify yourself. Upload your Garmin/Strava link (if you have one) and see where you are on the virtual leaderboard.
All profits raised from both events will go towards supporting the amazing work undertaken by Mount Vernon Cancer Centre – helping to fund the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre, specifically the Complementary Therapy Service. In 2018/19 we delivered 2,469 sessions and the service is funded by voluntary donations. Just £35 could fund one complementary therapy session to help ease the side-effects a patient can experience during cancer treatment. Donations can be included when you make your entry to support our valuable work or you can donate online via JustGiving. We are also encouraging everyone to get sponsorship from friends and family. A sponsorship form can be found here.
If you can’t take part, maybe you would like to leave a message of support and say thank you to our dedicated NHS cancer staff by making a donation. You can do so by visiting justgiving.com/campaign/virtualmoorpark10k
